Role Description

The Objective of the Commercial Organisation is to identify and implement new commercial opportunities in both existing and future business, increasing revenue, reducing costs and maximising profitability for the organisation.

Specific Responsibilities


  • Work collaboratively as part of the Commercial Organisation with adequate knowledge and experience of legal and regulatory requirements in the financial services sector, with a general understanding of the Company’s commercial objectives;
  • Working collaboratively with Information Security, Risk & Compliance to harmonise the approach to vendor management and ongoing client and regulator assurances;
  • Assist with the develop of strategic relationships, globally, that deliver commercial and contractual value and mitigate risk;
  • Review and analyse key global trends and monitor any potential operational impact in relation to supplier risk (RAG & risk probability, applying a proportionate review frequency to each);
  • Deliver benefits such as service quality improvements through ongoing review of supplier contracts;
  • Working directly with Infrastructure and service delivery, coordinating functional areas on their operational expectations, collating feedback, reviewing support logs, etc.
  • New supplier selection and integration into the organisation in harmony with organisational strategy and departmental objectives;
  • Managing supplier governance/performance management regime against SLA/KPI’s
  • Collaboratively drive commercial and procedural improvement across the business;
  • Develop reference materials for each functional area;
  • Consult with client managers when new client requirements arise in order to prepare for upcoming audits of the supply base;
  • Escalation contact in supplier agreements, acting in negotiations and disputes, etc. Act as a point of contact for auditors and other client-initiated requests;

Experience Required

  • Knowledge of risk & assurance matters in a financial services environment (FCA/SYSC 8).
  • Previous experience in client-facing roles.
  • Previous experience in supplier management/procurement, especially across FS/Infrastructure supply base.
  • FNZ are a global business so knowledge of other regulatory requirements (such as the Monetary Authority of Singapore/MAS) would be advantageous
