Role Description

Responsible for the day to day running of the Static Data and Pricing team within the Operations department across two locations in Europe. The role requires a candidate with extensive experience and knowledge of Data Management. In addition, it would be beneficial if the candidate has knowledge of Equity, Fixed Income, OEICs and the Funds markets. 

 

Team Responsibilities:

 

An instrumental team directly involved in the management of static data and pricing information across the entire FNZ platform. Managing data sources from multiple vendors ensuring timely and accurate provision of information to end users and to optimise timely and accurate straight through processing capability.

 

A key aspect of the role is to engage with customers for both maintenance of existing product set as well as support the ongoing development of the client proposition.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Resource / Workload; allocate and monitor the progress of team tasks on a daily basis.
  • Effective Communication; provide department performance measurement in respect of KPIs and other relevant Management Information to Head of Dealing Services on a regular basis and in accordance with contractual and regulatory obligations. Communicate with and be complimentary to other operational areas to exceed customer expectation and to optimise operational efficiency.
  • Team Development; responsible for the training & mentoring of team members across multiple locations.
  • Data Input; manage all aspects of data management including accurate pricing and timely updates place new funds on the platform as required to meet customer demands.
  • Client Liaison; key resource for new and existing clients to ensure accuracy of existing data as well as requests for new data sets in support of developing customer proposition.
  • Investigation; investigate static data or data that is not present that affects the platform performance.
  • Static Data; to assist in the process of maintaining high quality Instrument data within the platform to ensure quality information provided and end client confidence in the information provided. To be aware of developments in the market and to ensure FNZ are a leading player in the use of market information.
  • Pricing Queries; investigate and resolve pricing queries in a timely manner using initiative to determine the right customer outcomes.
  • Procedures; ensure maintenance of all procedures in line with current process, system interaction and development of customer proposition and resultant platform development.
  • Third Party Liaison; ownership of the day to day service aspect of the relationship with third parties. Key resource in understanding the services provided and performance against KPIs / SLAs.
  • Record Keeping; maintain records as are required to ensure the investment process is transparent to regulators and external auditors.
  • Information Systems; make effective use of the Company’s information systems that are relevant to the role, raise system issues and suggest improvements to negate future repetition.
  • CPD; develop professional and technical knowledge and skills via training and development in order to meet Continuing Professional Development requirements.
  • Other tasks; to undertake any other projects/ tasks as may reasonably be required to facilitate the smooth operation of the company.
  • Comply with the Training and development standards and requirements as outlined in FNZ's T&D Framework, including CPD.
  • This role is in scope for activities which have a direct impact on CASS processing which takes place within FNZ for FNZ and/or FNZ’s clients. This role has a requirement to remain up to date with CASS developments and changes as communicated with FNZ.

Experience Required

The role requires a candidate with extensive experience and knowledge of Data Management and how data is used in a high volume transaction processing business. In addition, it would be beneficial if the candidate has knowledge of multiple asset types, in particular equities, fixed income and OEICS in respect of trading and asset servicing activities. 

 

Required business experience and key skills:

  • Extensive industry experience of data management and knowledge of the vendor market.
  • Clear understanding of the use of data in the processes undertaken to support trading, asset servicing and custody functions.
  • Excellent organisational skills. Ability to ensure multiple demands can be met whilst ensuring customer satisfaction and high levels of operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels internally and support client interaction.
  • Excellent PC skills. Knowledge of systems/platforms in the wealth industry beneficial.
  • Clear thinker of business process ensuring effective operational controls and risks related to data management along with appropriate proactive management of any identified mitigation.
  • Flexible approach with demonstrable ability to support and adapt to change.

Advantageous skills:

  • Knowledge of global custody, crest and fund manager relationships.
  • Understanding of trading in equities and funds.
