Role Description


Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for preparing, analysing and developing all aspects of the financial data required in relation to the Company’s regulatory reporting (both qualitative and quantitative). This will involve close, continuous liaison with the risk owners/executives and with the risk & compliance team.  


Key Responsibilities: Your key duties will include keeping abreast of regulatory developments and liaising with external regulatory specialists. In particular, responsibilities will include:


Regulatory Capital

Regulatory Capital Monitoring and Capital Adequacy Forecasting (ICAAP):


  1. Assisting with the setting and monitoring of risk appetite measures in relation to capital adequacy
  2. Calculating the Company’s Pillar 1 regulatory capital requirement (both historical and forecast):
    • the Fixed Overhead Requirement;
    • Credit and Counterparty capital requirements;
    • Market Risk capital requirement
  1. Assisting business risk owners and the Company’s executives to:
    • Calculate the financial implications from a Pillar 2 perspective, should identified risks materialise (both pre and post mitigation)
    • Perform the Stress, Reverse Stress Testing and Wind-Down modelling required by the ICAAP


Liquidity Standards

Application of the BIPRU 12 liquidity standards:

  • Assisting with the setting and monitoring of liquidity risk appetite parameters;
  • Monitoring of liquidity adequacy; and
  • Liquidity stress testing


Regulatory Reporting

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that the Company monitors and meets all regulatory reporting deadlines;
  • Completing and submitting the company’s regulatory returns such as COREP, FSA001 & FSA002, FSA019, FSA055 etc. Business 


Other Responsibilities

The successful applicant will also be responsible for developing, maintaining and documenting the regulatory processes and controls required by the finance team.


Experience Required


Successful applicants will be/have:

  • Graduate or post graduate qualification in a finance related discipline or equivalent (a CA/ACA, ACCA qualification would be helpful)
  • Prior experience of the financial services industry related to regulatory capital management regulation and BIPRU 12 liquidity requirements and practices
  • Experience of ICAAP and stress testing development within a regulated institution

  • Strong analytical and technical skills and good attention to detail
  • Very strong Microsoft excel skills
  • Highly self-motivated, comfortable hitting deadlines and working in a fast-paced, hands-on, high-growth environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interacting with people at all levels (up to and including the executive and Board members) and across all departments
  • Strong team player with good organisation and planning skills and a strong commercial instinct
