  • Role Description

    On behalf of the Program Lead, the Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, control (including risk/issue management and monitoring spend against budget) and delivery of the Project.  While not a client facing role, the Project Manager requires the ability to build strong relationships with internal customers, often at a senior level.  Project Olea is a confidential strategic project whose scope and objectives will be provided to the successful applicant.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain an end to end project plan that delivers the agreed scope of the Project to time, budget and quality criteria.
    • Assist the Program Lead in working with FNZ nominated SMEs and advisers to agree detailed scope, timelines and artefacts in order to ensure delivery of the Project in line with overall agreed plan.
    • Assist the Program Lead and Commercial Team lead in setting and agreeing the program budget, and working collaboratively with the business to estimate the work effort required to deliver the program scope within the agreed timescales and budgets.
    • Establish and run (including acting as secretariat for) a Project Control Committee and Steering Group.
    • Provide timely, precise, accurate and comprehensive program MI and reporting to the Program Lead, PCC, Steering Group and Board as required.
    • Identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies (“RAID”) through the full project lifecycle. Ensure mitigation plans are in place for all risks and issues, and take ownership for ensuring these mitigation plans are executed, or escalate to the Program Lead/PCC/Steering Group as appropriate.
    • Ensure changes to plan, RAID, target operating model, budget etc are managed in line with agreed change control protocols, including ensuring that assumptions, scope and deliverables remain valid post-change.
    • Ensure internal SMEs and relevant external stakeholders are engaged at the appropriate stages of the Project.
    • Assist the Program Lead in ensuring all operational readiness activities are undertaken in line agreed protocols, and that appropriate training and handover takes place ahead of implementation.
    • Ensure the Project conducts a post implementation review and that lessons learned are captured and shared with the rest of the FNZ PM community.

     

     

    Experience Required

    • 1st class Honours degree or Masters equivalent. 
    • Experience in project managing business critical initiatives.
    • Expertise in Microsoft Project and Powerpoint and competence in Excel essential.
    • PMP, PRINCE 2 or equivalent qualification preferred.
    • Financial services/investment/advice sector experience preferred.
    • Good communication skills and capable of working with internal customers and external stakeholders at senior levels.
    • Excellent organisational, administration and time management skills.
