  • Role Description

    The Control and Oversight team is responsible for monitoring, analysing, and reporting on the processes and performance of all Investment Operations teams within FNZ (UK) Ltd.  The team is part of the first line Control and Monitoring Function and focuses on using data within the FNZ platform to provide comfort and evidence that FNZ are meeting performance, control, and compliance standards across its client-delegated functions.  The Control & Oversight team is also responsible for the production of daily internal client money reconciliations, fraud report analysis and monthly ISEM production.


    Team Responsibilities:

    • Completion of daily client money reconciliations
    • Completion of daily fraud reporting investigations
    • Completion of monthly ISEM reports
    • Regular review of controls across Operational teams
    • Tax reporting

    Role Responsibilities:


    The Control and Oversight officer is responsible for performing sample checks, analysing data, contributing to reporting,  daily client money internal reconciliation and fraud reporting. 

    • Oversight - Provision of an appropriate Control and Oversight function across all Operations teams.
    • Ownership – Ability to take responsibility for completion and accuracy of assigned tasks and escalating where appropriate.
    • Accuracy - Completion of tasks precisely and accurately.
    • Efficiency - Execution of tasks in a timely manner and deadlines are met.
    • Effective communication - Information and reports communicated effectively to necessary parties and in a timely manner for the purpose of rapid resolution.

    • Analysis - Trend analysis on extracted data, sample results, and any other information. Root causes investigated and documented.
    • Record keeping - Proper record maintenance as required, ensuring the investment process is transparent to regulators, clients, and external auditors.
    • Procedures - Contribution to and maintenance of relevant documented procedures.
    • Information Systems - Effective use of the Company’s information systems relevant to the role.
    • Planning - Prioritisation of the work to ensure all activities are completed on time and within agreed deadlines.
    • CPD - Development of professional and technical knowledge and to meet Continuing Professional Development requirements.
    • Other tasks - Any other projects/ tasks as may reasonably be required to facilitate the smooth operation of the company.
    • Sharing knowledge and best practice: sharing ideas and knowledge with colleagues in order to improve processes.
    • This role is in scope for activities which have a direct impact on CASS processing which takes place within FNZ for FNZ and/or FNZ’s clients. This role has a requirement to remain up to date with CASS developments and changes as communicated with FNZ.

    Experience Required


    • Experience operating within a Process Control or Oversight role in Investment Servicing,.
    • Strong understanding of Investment Operations & Financial Instruments.
    • Knowledge of client money regulatory requirements.
    • Confidence dealing with managers across business operations.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Understanding of service excellence.
    • Self-starter capable of working independently as well as an effective team player and collaborator.
    • Ability to be flexible and to adapt to changing circumstances.
    • Ability to draw effectively on past experience and quickly absorb new concepts and business knowledge.
