  • Role Description

    Quality Engineers at FNZ are all-rounder’s who may be called upon to work on projects or support our production platforms. Our Quality Engineers are involved in all aspects of testing from the more technical skills including test automation, database manipulation and xml injection testing to functional specification testing and supporting UAT.

    Test Design & Preparation:

    • Review/analyse business requirements to ensure they are quantifiable and testable.
    • Design testing requirements from Functional Specifications and/or Business Requirements (test permutations).
    • Write/Produce artefacts to support testing activities such as Test Designs, Test Matrices, Test Cases, Test Procedures, Test Scripts and Behavioural Models.

    Test Execution:

    • Perform structured and context-driven (formal /ad-hoc) system, system integration and regression testing as required.
    • Use internal defect tracking and test case management system(s) to document test cases, record defects and record test case execution results.
    • Raise and re-test defects.
    • Participate in defect triage meetings as directed.
    • Assist subject matter experts (SMEs) with user acceptance testing if required.
    • Assist with Client support activities, supporting client UAT.
    • Provide status updates on request.

    Collaboration / Communication:

    • Work with the test teams both internally and externally (client side).
    • Ensure that testing issues/ solutions are called out appropriately to the testing community, and where there are obvious process improvements promote to the broader FNZ teams and client engagement teams.
    • Collaborate with other test analyst to share knowledge, best practices, useful technology, and opportunities for cross-project test design / solutions.
    • Maintain high standards regarding written and verbal communications to ensure that information is clearly and concisely documented and appropriately disseminated. 

    Technology:

    • Keep abreast of latest and/or relevant technologies, tools and methods.
    • Identify adoption of processes, technology and tools best suited to FNZ.
    • Proactively identify technical (environmental, coding and testing) issues may impede test progress to enable early resolution of said technical issues.

     

    Experience Required

    • Test analyst experience working on large scale delivery projects.
    • Test automation experience using Selenium and Cucumber.
    • Ability to program with any programming language (ideally .Net C#).
    • Requirements analysis and interpretation and ability to translate all forms/levels of requirements.
    • Ability to define the appropriate level of test coverage based on requirements analysis.
    • Proven experience in writing/defining test cases, test procedures, test scripts.
    • Proven experience in the execution of system, system integration and regression tests.
    • Ability to raise and re-test defects using defect management tools.
    • Knowledge of a defect life cycle/ workflow.
    • Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic fast-paced industry.
    • High standard of communication in both spoken and written dialogue.
    • Knowledge of different test methodologies & techniques.
    • Knowledge of SQL mandatory.
    • Knowledge of test tools including test management, defect management (JIRA, JIRA Xray, HP ALM, QC).
    • Knowledge of Web Service, restful API test - desirable.
    • ISTQB foundation or advanced qualification - desirable.
    • Familiarity with financial products and markets - desirable.
