  • Role Description

    This role has accountability for providing direct support to the Head of Technology Services for the delivery of IT infrastructure services within Europe.

    This role is technical in nature and focuses on delivering a robust, reliable and risk-managed service to all internal and external users in a cost effective manner.  The role will include a significant technical leadership component within a small team of architects, engineers and support staff. Also acting as 2IC Head of Technology Services Europe during absence is expected.



    Role Responsibilities 


    Highly knowledgeable role that requires key infrastructure problem solving skills to be held at an in depth, expert level knowledge.

    Ensure Availability, Stability, Performance and Security of FNZ’s infrastructure.

    Manage portfolio of Infrastructure Services;

    • Server
    • Database Administration , Performance Tuning and archiving
    • Network & Firewall
    • Data Centre
    • Desktop Support
    • Automation

    Manage infrastructure projects and upgrades.

    Ensure adequate infrastructure monitoring is in place. 

    Action infrastructure Service Requests.

    Drive and govern policy and process enhancement.

    Ensure infrastructure disaster recovery plans are up to date.


    Ensure that the FNZ network and systems are internally and externally secure by ensuring existing policies and procedures are adhered to and documented for audit purposes.


    To act as a senior point of escalation for new and on-going projects and also the wider Senior Leadership Team. This is to be specifically accountable for the resolution and management of technical problems and situations as they occur.

    Experience Required

    • Degree qualified 2:1 or above or equivalent in Engineering or Information Systems (
    • Significant experience in senior Infrastructure Engineering role or equivalent
    • Multi-tiered website experience essential
    • Successfully managed Infrastructure change
    • Strategic thinking, independent and delivery-focused working style
    • Superior problem solving capabilities
    • Able to work in a rapidly changing environment
    • Excellent organisational, administration and time-management skills
    • Excellent team communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external clients
