  • Role Description

    The Senior Risk Manager is to act as the primary Risk contact in respect of specific Platform Clients. The responsibilities include but not limited to:

    • Lead ‘pre-JRCC’ meetings to ensure all actions have been progressed and updates are prepared for all FNZ related items.
    • Attend/Lead regular client meetings (e.g. Breach / JRCC) and resolve all actions within agreed timescales.
    • Deliver client reporting on time and accurately.
    • Deliver client Risk Event (including Breach) reporting within required deadlines.
    • To respond to client enquiries in a prompt and business-like manner.
    • Any other client managing related responsibilities.

    There may be additional requirement to support the development of the Global Risk & Control Framework (GRCF). This includes but is not limited to:

    • Risk Assessment.
    • Risk & Control Self-Assessment.
    • Risk Event (including Breaches) reporting, and associated management of Action Plans.
    • FNZ Global Policies.
    • Business Continuity.
    • Risk Management Information.
    • Training.

     To promote a positive risk aware culture, and ensure that the reputation of the Risk Team is maintained to a high standard.

     

     

    Role Responsibilities

     

    Client Managing

    • Lead ‘pre-JRCC’ meetings to ensure all actions have been progressed and updates are prepared for all FNZ related items.
    • Attend/Lead regular client meetings (e.g. Breach / JRCC) and resolve all actions within agreed timescales.
    • Deliver client reporting on time and accurately.
    • Deliver client Risk Event (including Breach) reporting within required deadlines.
    • To respond to client enquiries in a prompt and business-like manner.

     

    Risk Culture

    • Deliver Training including: Risk & Compliance Induction/Refresher Training, GRCF Overview, Continuity of Business, Risk Event and Breach Training, and any other relevant training as required.
    • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders accurately and within required timeframes.
    • Written and verbal communication to be of a high standard.
    • This role has a requirement to remain up to date with CASS developments and changes as communicated with FNZ.

     

    Managing People

    • Managing the Risk Analyst(s) on a daily basis where required
    • Planning and scheduling workload for team and projects
    • Carrying out training and encouraging quality and continuous improvement of processes across team
    • Managing team resources, planning and recruiting new staff as and when workload dictates
    • Carrying out staff performance reviews, identifying staff development, training needs, and devising development programmes

    Managing Relationships

    • Building an effective network of relationships across the internal and external stakeholder landscape is a critical aspect of the role.
    • Providing support to key client stakeholders to enable effective risk management process and information flow.
    • Providing support to key business stakeholders and wider risk team.

    Teamwork

    • Sharing ideas to enhance cross-team learning and business development.
    • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external parties.
    • Supporting the team’s efforts to succeed.

    Experience Required

    Required/Essential

    • Significant previous experience in financial services.
    • Detailed knowledge of regulatory responsibility and reporting principles such as SYSC, CASS and COBs.
    • Ability to understand and articulate the commercial benefits of effective risk management.
    • Excellent communication, relationship management and influencing skills at senior management level.
    • Ability to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
    • Ability to analyse, present and report risk management information to senior stakeholders.

    Desirable

    • Excellent knowledge of banking, insurance and asset management.
    • Experience in a senior risk management role, ideally within a platform environment.
    • Related professional or industry qualifications such as IOR, CISI, IMC.
    • Experience working in 2nd Line Risk.
