  • Role Description

    The Reconciliation Officer is responsible for the day to day running of the reconciliation activities ensuring complete end to end efficiency of the process while remaining CASS diligent in all aspects of the role.

    This role will require potential Client facing engagement for ongoing service expectation, and a comfortability in a fast paced continually growing environment.

    • The role requires a candidate with understanding of CASS Reconciliation, processing in multiple currencies, who can demonstrate strong personal organisational skills alongside a proactive approach to the management of expectations, with precise and accurate financial data being produced.
    • Potential Client facing exposure requiring the holder to represent FNZ in client meetings and industry forums with the utmost professionalism.
    • Performing compliant Internal and External Client Money Reconciliations
    • Monitoring and ensuring adherence to SLA’s, KPI’s and department procedures.
    • Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with any relevant compliance or regulatory requirements with particular focus to ensure adherence to CASS, SYSC and COBs rules.
    • Liaising with other departments and clients as required.
    • Creation of qualitative department MI to present to Senior management teams and clients alike.
    • Analytical Investigation into Internal and Market discrepancies by speaking with other teams to resolve such queries in a timely manner.
    • Provide current operational data when called upon and be aware of existing difficulties with a root cause and resolution implemented.

    Comply with the Training and development standards and requirements as outlined in FNZ's T&D Framework, including CPD.

    Experience Required

    • Qualifications: IOC and/or AAT desirable or willing to undertake
    • Technical understanding of Double ledger entry
    • Demonstrable experience of a reconciliations role with a financial services background
    • Intermediate knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUP, PIVOT, SUM, IFSTATEMENTS)
    • Competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • SQL Script running desirable but not essential
    • Commercially and industry aware and service driven
    • Experience of building strong cross functional and locational relationships
    • Ability to exceed in a high volume environment with effective organisation of multiple, simultaneous, competing objectives.
    • Product knowledge of financial instruments desirable. A working knowledge of CASS rules in particular CASS 7 is a mandatory requirement.
    • Strong Analytical skills. With a proven ability to provide in depth knowledge of the research. Ability to think “Outside the box”
    • Knowledge of payment processing within UK and International payments systems highly desirable.
    • Comprehensive understanding of the lifecycle of a transaction including reconciliations and postings to client and accounts post-settlement.
    • Proactive, flexible approach to working.
    • First class verbal and written communication skills.
    • Self-motivated and of high integrity.
    • Copes well under pressure and can deliver to deadlines.
    • Good time management skills.
    • Good relationship building skills, both internally and externally.
